When God speaks...

Updated: Jun 25, 2019

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11

Dear Mama,

If you have broken dreams, unmet expectations, living a life other than the one you imagined, let me tell you this, you are not alone. As a young mother, I remember being filled with frustration because I felt stuck, I couldn't possibly "just be a mom" but, as I grew in my walk with the Lord, He taught me something better.

When we are born no one tells us what we were created to be, our purpose, God's original intent for our lives. We are born and we are told "you can be whatever you want" and I am not sure, at this point in my life and knowing what I know about God, that I agree with that statement completely. I believe we can achieve certain goals in life, develop talents or skills, but I also believe that we are created for a specific purpose.

My purpose was to be a mother. There are many lessons I've learned through teaching my own kids, I've learned not to take myself so seriously, I've learned that expectations are a relationship killer, and most importantly to have childlike faith through the difficult times. The Lord had spoken a different word over me. As a result of it my life took a different turn, yes, is not what I is way better. You see, God's word over our lives is so powerful it accomplishes what it needs to at the right moment. Because when God speaks things happen, His word never comes back void. So mama, if you have dreams that are not yet met, I want to encourage you to let God's word take over your life, it has been sent forth.
